Why Did I Do THAT!!!

February 14, 2011

turtle-wealth-line.jpg

Don’t you HATE when you finish a card look at it and think it needs a little more or if I just did *blah blah* it will look much better! after you make that change it then looks terrible and you wish you never touched it. If only I had an “undo key” in real life and not just on my key pad. I had one of “those” moments when making this card I had finished then looked at the top layer with the Turtle and felt it need something more, so I ripped the corner and added the newsprint. Now I hate it and wish i had just left it alone but I spend so much time on the rest of the card I did not have the heart to put it in the bin.

I like inside more then the outside. I really felt that the Turtle went so well with the Quote and clock images from ‘Sense of Time’ stamp set.

That is a very irritating feeling when that happens isn’t it!! Sometimes when your fingers feel the urge to fiddle, you’ve just gotta walk away!!! Step away from the card! LOL!

Regardless, I think it looks amazing!! Would b e happy to have it in my reject pile!

  7. Rachel says: February 15, 2011 at 6:26 am

You are much too hard on yourself Teneale! I think it looks gorgeous, just like all of yours do. I love the sentiment with the turtle too, perfert!

    Hi Teneale.
No way. I love this card and think the torn corner looks fab! This tortoise image goes perfectly with the sentiment and clock image from the Sense of Time set! Stunning card!
    Hugs, Vicky ~x~

Well, since I don’t know what it looked like before you tore the corner, I think it looks great! It’s a beautiful card and the turtle is sooooo perfect with the sentiment.

  12. Julie Calkins says: February 15, 2011 at 10:59 am

Absolutely perfect! I love all that you do and really missed seeing your talent when you were away. Thanks for always doing wonderful cards!

  13. Nerida says: February 15, 2011 at 11:02 am

Wow Tenealle, I love your turtle and the background, the torn edge doesnt detract from the overall card. Is the background done with a bone scorer and embossing? Cant remember the name of the technique?

  14. Jenna Wunderlich says: February 15, 2011 at 11:41 am

oh no I love it! Definitely don’t “bin” it!

  15. Jacqui says: February 15, 2011 at 7:58 pm

Oh Ten! you stuff is always sensational. We are our own worst critics. This card is amazing………but then your work always is. Well done girlfriend.

  16. megan mcdonald says: February 16, 2011 at 5:08 am

I love the card but what I love even more is the words and the image they so suit each other.

  17. Marelle Taylor says: February 16, 2011 at 9:28 am

You’re a genius, pairing those two together! You never cease to amaze me. I actually like the torn edge…I think it’s the newsprint that’s throwing it off? Maybe a softer, Sahara Sand pattern would have worked better? But that’s just being hyper-critical. It’s a gorgeous card!
    xoxo

    I think it looks amazing!!

  19. Mel Barwise says: February 16, 2011 at 9:52 pm

    It looks amazing!
Most of the time it’s the artist that does like the work but all others adore it,
and it is certainly is in this case!!
    Just gorgoeus,
love to know how you did the background of the embossing???
wat colors or inks did you use?

  20. Michelle Scileppi says: February 17, 2011 at 3:14 am

Actually that rip with the newsprint DSP underneath is my favorite part! That was what initially caught my attention to the card! One man’s mistake is anothers inspiration! Is that a quote? LOL If not it should be!!

  21. Di Hardie says: February 17, 2011 at 6:21 am

    Hi Teneale
Absolutely stunning work. You are one talented artist. I regularly visit your blog. You are an inspiration to us all.
    Many thanks
    Di

I love that the card you want to reject would be my dream card:) You are too talented! Thanks for sharing your work… it is AMAZING!

  23. Shandelin Anderson says: March 7, 2011 at 9:29 am

I love this card! What technique did you use on the background paper to give it the scaly look?

  24. Anna M. Wolleben says: March 25, 2011 at 1:50 pm

You are too hard on you!!! The card is PERFECT as all your cards!!! I have the same stamp set and love them, particularly the turtle!

  25. Kelly says: April 8, 2011 at 12:29 am

*Awesome*….I have that embossing folder, and what you’ve done with it is GENIUS! I love the card, very masculine, and yet still beautiful.
